Greenpeace exists because this fragile earth deserves a voice. It needs solutions. It needs change. It needs action.
Around the globe passionate people, just like you, are standing up on behalf of the planet and holding governments and corporations accountable. Whether on the streets or at the ballot box, we have real power when we work together. Please join us and make a donation today.
Donations from supporters enable Greenpeace to investigate, campaign and lobby to protect the environment around the world. A donation from you will expose and put an end to environmental abuses through peaceful, direct action. Your donation will be used to protect the oceans, forests, freshwater and climate – the very life support systems of our planet.
You may not know that unlike many organisations, Greenpeace Aotearoa does not accept funding from governments or corporations. Instead we rely on the generosity of individuals just like you to make our campaigns happen. This means we are completely independent, so protecting the planet is always top of the agenda.
Together, we will build a green and peaceful future.

Following a campaign by Greenpeace and allies, the NZ Government announced a ban on single-use plastic bags in 2018, which was implemented from 2019 - a win for people power and the oceans!
In 2018 we gained a win for the rivers and for climate when the Government agreed to stop funding big new irrigation schemes required for dairy expansion. It has meant less intensive dairy expansion, less pollution of rivers and less agricultural emissions. Now we’re focused on the other intensive dairy input: synthetic nitrogen fertiliser.
The Supreme Court slammed the door on seabed mining in 2021 in their unanimous dismissal of an appeal by Trans Tasman Resources for consent to begin seabed mining in the South Taranaki Bight - a significant win for the ocean. We’re now campaigning for a ban because they’ll keep trying.
Leaving a gift in your will to Greenpeace has a powerful impact. It's action you can take to protect the environment for future generations, even after you're gone.
